Rosie Rocket started off the 2-year-old season for Jessica in early April. A precious head-strong Sioux Nation filly, she finished a credible 5th on her race course debut in St Cloud only to finish a good 3rd at the same track 2 weeks later. Rosie was unlucky not to be 3rd in the Class 2 at Paris Longchamp, beaten a nose and did very well in the Listed race in Vichy last time out. She is a durable hard filly and has picked up some nice prize money in the last 2 months. She will step up in trip in the next few weeks
Iron Man, Sodapop and I Am Inevitable all made their racecourse debuts in April and Jessica felt they all needed to run. I Am Inevitable showed significant improvement to finish a good 3rd in St Cloud, only to be disqualified after the race for interference. She was the first James Garfield horse to run in France and will undoubtedly win a maiden soon.
Jessica fell in love with Sodapop the day she saw her in the sales ring in Goffs. She is a most striking elegant filly with a beautiful walk and moves gracefully across the ground with consummate ease. She was unlucky not to be 2nd in her race at Lyon, drawn out in the car park and having to run around the entire field, inexperience caught her out in the last 50m. Jessica is confident she will come on for the run and prove she can win a maiden in Paris.
Winter Arrow made his debut in a good Inedit in Chantilly, it doesn’t get much hotter than 2 years old racing in Paris! He finished a good 5th and Aurelien Lemaitre is excited to get him back out again and step him up to 6f.
Iron Man, after a difficult coltish start to racing, eventually got his act together in Lyon in early April to finished a good 3rd. He is constantly learning and will progress into a nice 7f horse over the summer.
Cosmic Invasion gave us our 1st 2-year-old winner in France. She is a sensational filly by Cotai Glory and led from pillar to post. All the big yards and sires were represented in the race and this was the hottest 6f maiden so far. She posted a time of 1’10’93 which was 1 second slower than the winners time in the next race on the card – a listed race for 4 year old colts ! Not bad for her first run.
June sees 5 unraced 2 years old commence their racing career with Jessica and the team looking forward to some big races for the likes of Cosmic Invasion, Sodapop, Rosie and Winter Arrow.
